ReadyMD patient information
Clear information before care begins.
ReadyMD provides focused asynchronous virtual-care pathways for adults in Ontario. These notices explain how the service works and do not replace the consent discussion or information provided in the secure intake.
01
Privacy
ReadyMD collects only information reasonably necessary to identify patients, assess requests, provide care, maintain a medical record, coordinate prescriptions, testing or documents, and administer permitted payments.
- The public matching check is processed only in your browser and is not transmitted.
- Personal health information must be entered only through the secure clinical intake or secure messaging channel.
- Access is limited to authorized members of the care team and service providers acting on the clinic’s behalf.
- Information is retained as part of the medical record in accordance with Ontario law and professional requirements.
- Patients may request access to or correction of their medical record, subject to applicable law.
The health-information custodian, assigned physician, professional contact information and privacy contact are disclosed securely before care begins. Administrative email is not a secure clinical channel.
02
Asynchronous virtual care
Asynchronous care uses secure questionnaires, photographs, documents and messaging rather than a scheduled appointment. Virtual care has clinical and privacy limitations and may not replace a physical examination.
- An Ontario physician determines whether virtual care is appropriate in each case.
- The physician’s identity, contact information and Ontario licensure are disclosed to every new patient before care begins.
- The physician may require additional secure messaging, tests, phone/video assessment or in-person care.
- Submitting a request does not guarantee a diagnosis, prescription, requisition, form, note or referral.
- You must provide complete and accurate information and remain available for follow-up.
Consent to virtual care is obtained in the secure intake before clinical care is provided.
03
Communication
Clinical communication takes place through the secure platform chosen for your ReadyMD request. Ordinary email may be used for receipts, identity or account administration, and notifications that a secure message is waiting.
- Email notifications should not contain diagnoses, questionnaire answers, prescription details, photographs or laboratory results.
- Do not reply to an administrative email with medical information.
- Urgent and emergency concerns must not be sent through the portal or email.
04
Fees and refunds
Any applicable fee is shown before payment. ReadyMD does not charge privately for an OHIP-insured service. Fees may apply to uninsured services or services requested by a third party, including travel medicine, sick notes and certain insurance or benefit forms.
- No fee is charged merely for completing the public matching check.
- You will be told what service the fee covers before you agree to pay.
- If a paid service cannot be provided, the applicable reversal or refund will be explained.
- Medication, pharmacy, laboratory and other third-party charges are separate unless clearly stated.
- You may request an itemized receipt and an explanation of a charge.
- Payment for an uninsured service does not buy preferential access to an insured service.
05
Terms of use
You must be at least 18 years old, physically located in Ontario while receiving care, provide accurate information and use your own identity. ReadyMD may decline or redirect a request when information is incomplete, identity cannot be verified, a physical examination is needed, safe follow-up cannot be arranged or the request is outside the service’s scope.
The platform may not be used for emergencies, fraudulent documents, another person’s care, abusive conduct or requests for controlled substances outside accepted clinical practice.
06
Safety and emergencies
ReadyMD is not continuously monitored and does not provide emergency care. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department for severe trouble breathing, chest pain, fainting, stroke symptoms, severe allergic reaction, uncontrolled bleeding, suicidal intent or another rapidly worsening emergency.
For urgent non-emergency guidance in Ontario, call 811 or seek local urgent/in-person care. Do not wait for a ReadyMD response if symptoms worsen.
07
Contact and concerns
For administrative support, email care.readymd@gmail.com. Do not send symptoms, photographs, laboratory results, medication details or other personal health information by ordinary email.
The secure intake provides the assigned physician’s identity, professional contact information, Ontario licensure, privacy contact and instructions for clinical follow-up or complaints before care begins.
